December Polymer Clay POM club project is ready!

I should really do double projects in January because honestly I forget just how busy November and December are not to mention how fast the time just flies by. Which is exactly what happened this month.
But regardless of all that...the december project is ready and is by popular request. When I sent out a call on the ArtBuzz blog, several came back and said they wanted a snowy moose...which is right up my alley since I love rustic..moosy....lodgy decor. It just makes you feel so warm and cozy. In the chill of a Missouri winter....that is a great thing on a frigid cold day like today.
This is the LAST project of 2009. So if you joined in January, please re-new your subscription.
I will send out friendly reminders as well. Other subscriptions will continue until the month you joined.
To simplify things, I am only continuing the Polymer Clay Whimsical character POM club. I feel there is a real audience out there and very few of the polymer clay artists cater to your needs.
For your convienence you can click the Buy Now button below to renew or join for 2010!

Just a little update...

As you've probably realized, Im running way behind this month...as Im sure so many of you are as well...so much to do, yet so little time.

My goal is to get the POMS up and running by the weekend. Originally I wanted to have them done today.....but life happened and my camera is acting up...so just a few little glitches to deal with.

Because I haven't done the POM's yet....this IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY FOR REQUESTS!! I do have in mind a project...but Im more than willing to adjust that to what you want to see. That goes for next month too, as I'll be recovering from surgery so my goal is to get this months and next months projects done by the end of this month! WHEW!!

So....thanks for understanding and thanks for your suggestions in advance!!! Happy Claying!

A visit to Dr. Bob's new state of the art Cardinals Kids Cancer Center

So this blog is a little more on the personal side. Many of you know that Mariah was born with a brain tumor...which is now been in remission for more than 10 years - I am happy to say! But it was a very long journey.

We met Dr. Bob in 1991 when Mariah was 3 months old. He was newer to oncology...had two exam rooms.....one nurse and loads of patients who loved him....

A few years later...Dr. Bob's office expanded by knocking out the wall to make the waiting room even bigger and 6 treatment rooms. We thought we were in heaven.....new toys...new everything.... more space.........and then.......he moved into the cancer center across the street...even more space more toys...but now......
THIS!!

This room is totally devoted to Guitar Hero and Wii...it has an ultimate sound system....

One side of the game room for teens...or anyone else....and yes the games are all free to play..

The other side of the room....I think grandma is going to try out her dance moves. I had a blast on this game....mariah was a little shy.....she doesnt want to look goofy...but I dont care...

Mariah and Dr. Bob today....

Jill and Mariah. Jill is a patient advocate, child life specialist who has also watched Mariah grow up in the office....she's been there as long as Mariah has....

So would I have changed any of the experiences??? Well...I certainlyl wouldnt want to have anyone have to go thru Cancer...not a kid...not an adult....BUT...if you do happen to have that ugly word rear its face in your family and you are anywhere near the St. Louis area I would highly recommend you to Dr. Bob.

The renovation donated by the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team will be a state of the art Kids Cancer Treatment center all for Dr. Bob Bergamini and Dr. Rob Hansens patients.

Mariah's a SENIOR!!!

This post is mostly for the family since they read my blog.

Can't believe the time has gone in a blink of an eye!!! She's been through so much in her life.
Yesterday, we took the day to take her senior pictures and the whole time I was snapping photo's I was thinkin..."didn't I just pay for her kindergarten pictures?" WOW!

We've had a beautiful fall here in the Ozarks. The colors this year were bright and colorful. The only thing we had to deal with yesterday was the wind. It was a great time together!!

Enjoy!

Friendly Plastic Steam Punk Copper Jewelry on Etsy

I've just uploaded several designs to Etsy featuring Friendly Plastic and the unique one of a kind steampunk style.

Photobucket

This jewelry really was a work in progress....It wasn't a case of " the good, the bad and the ugly" it was a case of "the ugly, the uglier....the great".... It came about as I turned a flop....into a floppertunity and I absolutely love the result!

Photobucket

Combining my favorite mediums; friendly plastic with metal. Once it started happening, well...I just couldn't stop!

Please stop by my etsy store and check out all my designs...plus pick up some Friendly Plastic pellets too!
