Friendly Plastic Steam Punk Copper Jewelry on Etsy
This jewelry really was a work in progress....It wasn't a case of " the good, the bad and the ugly" it was a case of "the ugly, the uglier....the great".... It came about as I turned a flop....into a floppertunity and I absolutely love the result!
Combining my favorite mediums; friendly plastic with metal. Once it started happening, well...I just couldn't stop!
Please stop by my etsy store and check out all my designs...plus pick up some Friendly Plastic pellets too!

Mixed Media Jewelry POM available for download
I've seen a resurgance of vintage coming across my path....magazines..trends...charms are ever so popular, so I decided to get my little soldering gun out and create this project that I call Memoir.
Over the past couple of years, Ive found myself at times interested in geneaology...dont know why...grave stomping isnt my thing...wasnt my thing....is now my thing...
In the process of uncovering my family roots, I've uncovered some precious photos. Instead of sticking them in a book to fade off into the sunset, I scanned them and photoshopped them a little bit and created memoir jewelry. This happens to be a photo of my great Aunt Marie Molden Foan daugther of August Molden and Ottillia Joesel Molden.
Hope you enjoy this months project!

F is for FUN, FANTASTIC FRIEND-LY PLASTIC
First, Jana sat down and made some fracture & fusion for Jen's butterfly technique based canvas collage....
While Liz was intrigued by my new dichroic technique using Genesis paint...
I happened to be slaving away at instructions for my new beading book.....
And Jen.....well...who knows what she is up to....she just plays all day long...
A little later Liz gave us a quick demo on her lace technique...
Jana grabbed up all the scraps and made her confetti beads....
Then we went shopping....first to...The Berry Patch...then to two art stores and to McGukins hardware store where we didn't want to be recognized so we walked around the store in disguise...
But for some reason this person still kept following us....
Who IS THIS PERSON???? We have no idea...........Do you know her???
But then after dinner...a trip to Hobby Lobby and to the supermarket we came back to play some more....
and here's what we made........well..we really didn't make anything..we just played...after all we ARE ina PLAYGROUND! regardless we had loads of fun...lots of laughs....and some boo boos too...
Who know's what tomorrow will bring......oh yeah...it's the WELCOME party for the Starving Artist Playground..... and a Fondue cheese and chocolate party....OH YEAH!!!!

Getting ready for my Fracture & Fusion playshops was quite a job. Just look at this pile of Friendly plastic cut into perfect 1/4" strips. I wanted to make sure everyone would have enough time to really get the hang of the F&F, so I thought I would pre cut all the plastic into strips for them. It may take a week for my hands to recover. What was I thinking. I need to get a special die made, to make this process a little easier.
You can never have too many colored sheets to choose from, so I decided to lay out a few color coordinated strips in order to created a few F&F sheets to go along with the sheets my playmates will be creating.
Of course... once the all the strips were layed out I had to fuse them together. Can you tell I haven't taught in a really long time? Here I am practically making the projects for them. I have a hard time knowing when to stop. The truth is... I am really excited to teach again and I want everyone to be successful. So maybe I am doing a little too much. All the kits are make up and have been shipped off to Jen's house. I can't wait to see what the results will be and to share them you. I am sure there will be a lot of blogging going on, so be sure to check back here... and on the Friendly Plastic blog.
